1970s Fenton Uranium Fairy Lamp
I’ve featured fairy lamps before but never one like this! This is a Fenton 1970s frosted uranium fairy lamp with hand painted flowers! You’ve all heard me talk about radioactive uranium and how it was outlawed from 1941-1958 due to them not wanting uranium to be accessible or shipped. After 1958, they allowed uranium to be used for non-food glass items but only depleted uranium that did not have the ability to be used to make explosives. This is a great example of what I’ve coined “modern vintage uranium glass” - glass made with depleted uranium in the 60s to 90s. This was made by Fenton in the 70s and is so sweet! It glows beautifully under UV light and is ready to have a candle put in and use in your home!! There is a small chip on the bottom, which I’ve pictured. It is otherwise in great vintage condition! $40 This item is not available for shipment but you can purchase online and choose free in store pickup or come purchase it during our normal business hours! Note: All online transactions include 6% tax already worked into the price.
