1920s/30s uranium handled dish with etched design
I love uranium depression glass! It is so beautiful and glows beautifully and bright under UV light! This glass color is a mixture of radioactive uranium and copper (and some other minerals which provide variation in the greens) and was used until uranium was removed from the market in 1941 due to the war. Radioactive glass is understood to be safe for use due to its age and the half live of uranium. It is a very interesting piece of history and a great conversation piece! This is a classic depression era dish and would have been found in many homes! We have several matching pieces to this set currently in the store and it’s just stunning! This is a handled tray with beautiful etching. Note: All online transactions include 6% tax already built into the price.
